Through a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach, Journal of Social and Behavioral Nusantara encourages new breakthroughs relevant to the challenges of sustainable development and community empowerment based on local potential.
The journal is published twice a year, during the periods of January–June and July–December, and is provided in open access format to support the free and inclusive dissemination of knowledge to all levels of society.
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
All submissions must meet the following requirements.

This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
Author Guidelines
General Provisions
The manuscript is original, free from plagiarism, and must pass plagiarism checking with a similarity index of less than 25%.
The manuscript has not been published or accepted for publication in any other journal.
Manuscripts must be typed using A4 paper, Times New Roman, font size 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, and 2.5 cm margins on all sides.
The layout must use single-column format.
The manuscript should be written in proper English or Bahasa Indonesia.
All authors and related institutions must give approval for the manuscript submission.
Authors must use the journal template provided.
Manuscript length should be between 3,000–6,000 words, including references (excluding tables and figures).
The file size must not exceed 7 MB (.docx).
Manuscript Structure
Title
The title must be clear, concise, and informative.
Authors’ names (without academic titles) and full affiliations must be included.
The corresponding author’s details (email and address) are placed in the footer.
Abstract and Keywords
Written in English (even if the full text is in Bahasa Indonesia).
150–300 words covering: background, objectives, methods, results, and impact.
Keywords: 3–5 terms, alphabetical order, separated by semicolons (;).
Avoid repetition of words already used in the title.
Introduction
Explains the background and urgency of the community issues addressed.
Includes a review of relevant literature (preferably from the last 5 years).
Highlights the involvement and participation of the community in the process.
Methods
Describes the approach or method used to solve community problems.
Includes location, time, duration, data collection techniques, and partners involved.
Explains the baseline condition before the program and the expected outcomes.
Results and Discussion
Focuses on the documentation and analysis of the implemented community program.
Include before-and-after comparisons, photos (min. 300 dpi), tables, or figures as needed.
Results should be linked with interpretation, impact, and relevance.
Discussion should show new perspectives, community participation, adoption of innovations, and lessons learned.
Conclusion
Summarizes the outcomes and impacts of the program.
Provides suggestions for further improvement or future activities.
Encouraged to highlight novelty (models, approaches, prototypes, etc.).
Acknowledgment
Acknowledges individuals or institutions involved in the program.
Include funding sources and any potential conflict of interest.
If there was no funding, include: “This study did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”
References
Use APA 7th edition style.
List references alphabetically.
Include only cited sources in the manuscript.
Minimum 10 and maximum 40 references; preferably 70% journal articles (last 5 years) and 30% books or other sources.
Use reference manager (Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, etc.).
Ethical Considerations
Authors must ensure that all community engagement activities comply with ethical principles and regulations.
Informed consent must be obtained from communities, especially when including photos, data, or other sensitive materials.
After acceptance, the corresponding author is required to submit an Ethical Clearance Letter using the journal's provided template.
