Publication Ethics
Journal of Social and Behavioral Nusantara is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. These guidelines apply to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. The journal adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Ethics for Authors
- Authors are responsible for the originality and authenticity of their manuscripts.
- Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism, duplication, data fabrication, or falsification.
- Submissions must not be under review or previously published in another journal.
- All references must be cited properly, and the work of others must be acknowledged appropriately.
- If involving community participants or personal data, the authors must state that ethical procedures and informed consent were followed.
- Any conflict of interest, whether financial or personal, must be declared clearly.
- Ethics for Reviewers
- Reviewers must provide objective, honest, and constructive feedback on the manuscript content.
- Reviewers must decline to review if they have a conflict of interest with the authors or content.
- Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential and not used for personal benefit.
- Reviews should be completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Ethics for Editors
- Editors are responsible for the final decision on all submissions, based on academic merit and journal scope.
- Editors must assess manuscripts fairly, without bias related to the authors’ background, affiliation, gender, or belief.
- Editors must maintain confidentiality and avoid using manuscript content for personal gain.
- Editors are responsible for ensuring a transparent and fair peer review process.
- Handling Ethical Misconduct
In cases of suspected ethical misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate publication):
- The editorial board will initiate an internal investigation.
- Authors will be given an opportunity to respond.
- Proven violations may result in rejection or retraction of the article.
- The journal will act in accordance with COPE guidelines.
