Abstract

Islamic education plays an important role in shaping the character of the younger generation amid the rapid development of technology and increasingly complex globalization. Generation Z, as a group that grows up in a digital environment, faces various moral challenges, such as declining social ethics, low spiritual awareness, and the negative influence of social media on behavior and mindset. This study aims to analyze the values of Islamic education that contribute to the character formation of Generation Z and their relevance in facing the challenges of modern life. This research employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through the examination of books, scientific journals, articles, and other literature sources related to Islamic education, character education, and the characteristics of Generation Z. The data analysis technique was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and systematic conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that Islamic educational values such as morality, responsibility, discipline, honesty, and spirituality have a significant contribution to shaping the character of Generation Z in the digital era. In addition, Islamic education is also relevant as a moral foundation in dealing with the negative impacts of modernization and the development of social media. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the development of character education based on Islamic values in educational environments and social life.
