Abstract
Deep learning is an approach in the independent curriculum promoted by Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu'ti, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education in the 2024-2029 Cabinet of Merah Putih. This article describes humanism as a philosophy of education, the deep learning approach, and the integration of humanism in deep learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. The sources in this study are books and scientific journals related to the philosophy of humanistic education and deep learning. Data was collected through documentation and analyzed using inductive techniques. Deep learning is an approach that emphasizes the conditioning of the learning environment and a conscious, meaningful, and joyful learning process through comprehensive and integrated mental, emotional, sensory, and physical exercises. Deep learning is a concrete manifestation of humanistic education, as the conceptual foundations and learning experiences developed therein are in line with the core values of humanistic philosophy. The principle of consciousness enables students to regulate themselves, manage their learning process, and take responsibility for their independent development. The principle of meaningfulness provides direction for learning so that what students learn will be beneficial to them. The principle of joy allows students to feel safe and happy during the learning process. The understanding stage in deep learning encourages students to build self-awareness and construct their knowledge, while the application stage reflects humanistic values through the creative and empathetic application of knowledge in real life. The reflection stage emphasizes the importance of self-regulation, responsibility, and self-actualization as emphasized by Carl Rogers. Thus, deep learning becomes a manifestation of humanistic values in education that is meaningful, reflective, and humanizes students.
